Alzheimer's Services of Northern Indiana needs help
in two main areas:
- Volunteers to assist with many
projects.
- Walkers
for our annual walk fund raising event.
Alzheimer's Services of Northern Indiana is a not-for-profit
organization whose mission is to:
- to provide patient and families with support,
information, education, and referral services;
- to educate the public and health care professionals
about Alzheimer's disease and other related disorders;
- to advocate for improved public policy for patients,
family members and other caregivers;
- to promote research into the cause and cure of
Alzheimer's disease and other related disorders.
In order for us to carry out our mission, we need help
from many community members and we need to raise money to carry on our
program. Alzheimer's Services receives no money from any government
organization. All money needs to be raised from individuals, foundations
and corporate sponsors.
Alzheimer's Services needs volunteer assistance in many ways.
Our volunteer force ranges in age from children and teens to persons
in their eighties. Some are able to provide volunteer services regularly
on a weekly or monthly basis, others assist as needed/when available.
Some are able to help only once a year. No matter how often someone
is able to volunteer, all are needed and greatly appreciated.
Volunteer opportunities vary greatly, and training is provided for each
position. In some cases training is provided by the Alzheimer's Services
staff; in other cases new volunteers are trained by experienced volunteers.
Volunteer opportunities with current openings are listed below.
Links to job descriptions are provided. The job descriptions provided
are general in nature. Time commitments and responsibilities are
negotiable.
